The HUCKTOFLAT Chimera Adjustable Stem is the (slightly heavier version of the) best trail/enduro stem in the world! With the world’s first patent pending innovative length adjustability (35mm, 40mm, 45mm, 50mm) it’s hard to disagree with that claim.
After 18 months in development, being designed and tested on the SEQ gravity racing circuit, given to freeriders hitting 60 footers and elite gravity enduro racers, the stem has well and truly been put to the test before being released to the market.
The fork steerer tube pinch bolts are directionally offset for the strongest clamping and the bolt heads are recessed to prevent impact injuries.
The wide face clamp is one piece for easy installation and gives the stiffness required for modern gravity mountain bikes.
Only the best materials available are used. Each piece of the Chimera stem is precision CNC machined from billet 7075-T6 which is the strongest commercially available aluminium. It is twice as strong as 6061-T6 which is the material a lot of other stems are manufactured from.
The bolts are zinc coated 12.9 high tensile steel which are more than twice as strong as stainless steel bolts. They increase the weight of the product 11-15g over the Ti version, however allow a cheaper purchase price.

Why would I want an adjustable length stem?
The main idea is to allow riders to achieve the best bike setup possible. Bike manufacturers are making their frames more modular than ever before with flip chips that adjust chainstay length, high and low positions for suspension geometry or adjustable offset headsets, but until now there hasn’t been a solution to quickly and easily change stem length.
When you buy a bike, they are supplied with a stem of a length the manufacturer has decided should suit. Is it the correct length for you? Most likely not. How do you arrive at the perfect bike setup? By testing the setups and deciding which feels the best. Instead of having to buy multiple stems, by using the Chimera Adjustable Stem you are able to fine tune your setup with the one stem.
How does it work?
It is very simple. The base stem length is 35mm. Supplied with this base stem is a 5mm and a 10mm spacer that can be inserted between the stem body and the handlebars to create a 40mm, 45mm or 50mm stem.
Does it creak?
No. The innovative design of the spacers means that once the bolts are torqued to required specification, essentially the spacers don’t exist.
